The Work That You’re Sitting Upon
If you’re like me, you take a chair for granted. It’s the thing you sit upon to do what you need to do. In a perfect world it’s comfortable and ergonomic, but especially at work, sometimes you don’t have much of an option when it comes to sitting. I sit in the chair with a crater in the foam of the left arm, but that’s because it doesn’t sink on me. Other chairs sink on me — but not that one. That’s my chair.
So it’s nice to see Gizmodo doing a piece on the chairs that we sit in, why they’re designed the way they are, and the difficulty in striking the perfect balance between art and function.
