Happy New Year! Feliz Ano Novo! Felice Anno Nuovo!

Standard

With just a few days left of 2014, I would like to thank you for continuing to visit Justin’s Jobs! The month of December was the most successful yet for the site, and hopefully that’s a testament that we’re achieving something here. So, again, thank you.

How was this past year for you? Was it a good year? Did you achieve all of your resolutions that you set forth on January 1?

For me, it was a year of surprises — good surprises. First, I won an Emmy Award… which is pretty exciting! I certainly didn’t expect it, and I’m grateful to be a part of such an excellent team at work here in Los Angeles, one of the most exciting news cities in the world.

Next, I decided to pursue a Master of Business Administration online while I continue to work full-time. The goal is to learn a little more about my industry and other industries to gain a better understanding of how to be a better leader and how to run a business. After lots of studying on my GMATs and doing research about the best programs that fit my lifestyle, I can proudly say that I have begun my studies at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln! Last year, UNL was ranked by US News & World Report as the 6th best online MBA and one of the top 100 overall universities in the United States. Beyond that, I have visited the campus and the city of Lincoln many times, and I have several friends who either graduated from there or who grew up as Cornhuskers. And I now I’m one, and I’m very proud of that. I’ve only finished one class (Applied Organizational Behavior, which was awesome) — but it’s been a great experience so far.

Beyond that, it’s been mostly normal stuff. I’m blessed for all that I have and all that I’ve done, and I’m really looking forward to 2015. I have resolutions for the new year — but they’re mostly a continuation of the things I already try to do but never make enough time for. I just hope to learn a little more and be a little bit better with each day.

So here’s hoping you’ve got something awesome planned. Wish big, dream bigger. Try something new. Succeed a bunch. Fail a bunch. And get to know yourself a little better along the way.

Most importantly, HAPPY NEW YEAR!
